Kyo, lead singer of the Japanese rock band Dir en Grey. If you don't know who they are, slap yourself across the face, now. Then, go buy their cd's. They're absolutely awesome.

photo references were used for face.
Done in black acrylic. Color added with computer.
Roughly 2 hours to complete.

Kyo frequently looks sad/terrified/in pain, so that's what inspired this pic. Plus, I lurve Kyo...he needs hugs, doesn't he?
there are two panels in this pic, although they do merge together a bit

p.s. no, his arm is not amputated. The darkness and chains just cover the rest of it, that's all

Holy crap! That's freaking awesome. If I might say, I believe this to be one of your greatest works. Maybe that's just the dark thing in me...but this is marvellous. Not that you didn't know that, of course :D (I very much like DeG as well, though I have but one CD) Awesome awesome awesome. Love the chains, too.......:heart:

I really like the colors you added into the black, it really gives it even more of a mood. And well, at least for me, my experience with paint is alot of frustration sometimes. *claps for you and your l33t paint ability*

I've always found if you try /too/ hard at anything, it won't work and will leave you fustrated. I didn't really know what I was doing with the paint...I just went. I follow my intuition on what I think will work, and what will look good. It's not always right, but most of the time it is. Sometimes if you don't think too hard about stuff, it'll come out right.
